The main topic, presented by the JVA President, was the Activity Report for 2003, which was submitted for approval to the General Assembly.
The report contains data on objectives accomplished during the past year, altogether with financial support statements.
In compliance with the Board of Directors’ decision on March 12th, 2003, JVA’s objectives for 2003 war as follows:
1. Insurance of JVA’s functionality
2. Professional development of the existing labor force
a. ECDL European Computers Drivers License
b. Free training for public institutions and NGOs
c. Training for businessmen
3. Promotion of investments in SMEs in the Jiu Valley
a. Promotion of existing projects (industrial parks, IMM Foundations,, ANDIPRZM, AJOFM, etc.)
b. Organization of meetings of profile associations and local actors
c. Rotary Club
d. Training in relation with economic legislation focused on investments (LPAs – local Profile Associations)
e. Information centre for business environment
4. Identification and overcoming of barriers in attracting investments
a. Organization of debates
b. Professional training for local decision factors
c. Organization of lobby campaigns
d. Consultancy in attracting finance
5. Intensification of JVA – CNH collaboration
a. Clarification of the juridical status of terrains
b. Promotion through JVA of the Strategy-related actions of CNH
6. Tourism development in the Jiu Valley
a. Build-up of a Tourist Information Centre
b. Establishment of one/several profile association(s)
c. Consultancy in attracting investments
d. Setting-up of 34 information panels and 10 indicators
e. Establishment of a commercial area for traditional products
f. Improvement of railway stations image
7. Promotion of results obtained from ecological actions in the area and sustenance of developing projects
The results of JVA’s actions during 2003, according to the Activity Report, ware unanimously approved.
The members also validated the Jiu Valley Miners Trade Union League’s representative, VASILE SAVU, as a member of the Board of Directors, with 17 pro and 2 against votes.
As a result of unanimous approval, JVA has 2 new members, both representing the economic sector: Centrul de Calcul Info’98 Petroşani (Manager LUCIAN LUPU DIMA) and Agroaliment Vulcan (General manager MARIN COLTESCU).
After consulting all activity sectors, the membership fee for 2004 was established as follows:
Local and Central Public Administration: ROL 10,000,000
Economic Sector: ROL 5,000,000
Civil Sector: ROL 3,000,000
Deadline: June 30th, 2004
The General Assembly also decided that, when the fore-mentioned deadline has expired, a new Assembly would decide which members are still entitled to their full rights.
